Time is such a strange and tender thing, isn’t it? I’m always in awe of how our minds weave memories into timelines… and how sometimes, those memories feel too heavy to hold all at once.
It’s okay to need distance. I believe there’s a quiet kind of wisdom in how we dissociate at times – maybe it’s our system’s way of saying “not all at once.”
Thanks for your message and I'm glad you liked the story. I've found therapy to be nothing like what I expected and think a lot of "high-performing" men would be surprised as well. I have a session later this week and will be writing about what she says in response to all this and then how I process it and what I do with it. No lessons, no advice, just my experience and take what you want.
